Malcolm and Don 'Ride the Lights' for charity

Malcolm Sandywell a member of Stanley of Bickerstaffe Lodge No 3511, and the group charity steward for the Ormskirk and Bootle Group, along with Don Carton (secretary of Mersey Lodge No 5199), took part in the annual ‘Ride the Lights’ in Blackpool along with 60 other brethren and their families from across the Province.

The brethren were taking part in the ride to raise funds for the West Lancashire MCF 2021 Festival Appeal. Don, who used his mobility scooter to complete the ride, decided it was a good idea to don, (forgive the pun) his Father Christmas outfit. Throughout the ride it attracted much attention and delight for the many children taking part in the event, even the local press stopped Don and Malcolm, to take pictures.

The total sponsorship raised amounted to £778 with a further £96.25 in gift aid.

Malcolm said he would like to thank everyone who sponsored him, and special thanks to Crosby Lodge No 3714, and Mersey Lodge for their donations, they were very much appreciated.
