Park Hall Lodge No 8375 held its installation meeting at Ormskirk Masonic Hall, where the brethren were proud to give a very warm welcome to their guest of honour for the ceremony, Assistant Provincial Grand Master Robert Wright. After the initial lodge business was completed; John opened to the second and third degrees, where the director of ceremonies Andrew Killeen announced that Robert Wright was without and demanded admission. Robert was then admitted into the temple accompanied by the grand and acting Provincial grand officers.
John then warmly welcomed Robert to the ceremony and offered him the gavel of the lodge, which Robert gracefully declined.
The master elect, Anthony Prior was then presented to the lodge by Martin Howell and after Anthony had taken his obligation, the outgoing WM John thanked the brethren for all their support and hard work they had given him during his year in office.
John proceeded to install Anthony, according to ancient custom, into the chair of King Solomon. The working tools for an installed master were presented by David Williams of Lodge of Harmony No 580, the third degree by Harry Thacker, the second degree by Alistair Frew and the first degree by Shaun Nicholls all in an excellent and proficient manner
The handover address for senior warden was given by Alistair Frew and that for the junior warden was given by Graham Roberts. The address to the deacons was given by Andrew Killeen, the address to WM by Andrew, the address to the wardens by Stuart Cunningham and the address to the brethren of the lodge was given by Robert Wright; all delivered in a confident and excellent manner.
At the end the ceremony, Robert addressed the brethren by bringing congratulations from the Provincial Grand Master Tony Harrison, wishing Anthony and all the brethren the very best of health and hoping they have a happy Masonic year. Robert congratulated John for the manner in which he had installed Anthony into the chair, the lodge DC Andrew Killeen and the brethren who had taken part in the ceremony.
The ceremony now being completed, Anthony presented Robert with three cheques, £300 for the West Lancashire MCF 2021 Festival, £100 to Tithebarn, £100 to the West Lancashire Freemasons’ Charity, £100 to Breathe Easy (British Lung Foundation), £200 to the Ormskirk Masonic Hall and £100 to Rosemere Cancer Research from the Park Hall ladies. Robert also mentioned that lodge members had already given £220 to the 2021 Festival and on behalf of the recipients Robert thanked the lodge for their very generous and worthy donations.
After closing the lodge in prayer and harmony the brethren made their way to an excellent festive board which was enjoyed by all.
